We hope that you are going to find this new library inspiring and useful. It has grown out of a long love
of photography and a career spent choosing and making images.
My background is as a photographer and before that an art director. In publishing I worked on some
of the first highly illustrated cookery books for Octopus Books and commissioned scores of great
photographers for books on cookery, interiors, gardening, while working there. At Good
Housekeeping magazine I honed my craft, art directing lots of food and interiors photography, but got
increasingly drawn in to the taking of the pictures. For nearly twenty years I have earned my living as
a photographer shooting food, interiors, and lifestyle image for magazines and books, design groups
and advertising. I know the business!
Digital photography has added even more to my enjoyment of photography and the fiexibility and
freedom it gives has led me into creating this library. The internet has made me new photographer
friends from all around the world and you will see more and more of their fresh and exciting work in
this collection as the weeks go by. We have thousands of images in the pipeline so please keep
checking back to the library to see us as we grow. To help us get the images you need do feel free to
send us ideas for subjects you can't find - we'll let you know when they appear. And if your needs are
very specific consider specially commissioning one of our photographers.
